Helping Our Community

For every freemason, giving back to the community is not just encouraged, it is fundamental.

At St. Wilfrid we actively support a wide range of charitable and community organisations, from large, well-known causes to the smaller, local projects that often need help the most.

We are always ready to champion the initiatives of others, groups or good causes that share our aim of making life better for those around us.

By working together as a lodge we can achieve far more than any of us could alone. Pooling our time, energy and resources means we can deliver real, lasting impact where it is needed most. Charity, in the truest sense of the word, is woven into everything we do.

Local, Regional and National

We are most passionate about partnering with local organisations, where we think we can make the most postive impact to the lives of individuals.

We believe that active commuity participation is a powerful way to solve the many social and economic challenges around us.

Where there is opportunity, we collaborate with other freemasons across the region (Yorkshire West Riding Province) and at a national level in our work.

Events and Activities

Our charity work is hands-on and event-driven – whether we’re organising something ourselves or turning out to support a cause we believe in.

We’re proud to back St George’s Crypt in its vital work with Leeds’ homeless and vulnerable, champion the Yorkshire Youth and Music Trust in giving young people the gift of music, and regularly host charity dinners at Castle Grove Masonic Hall where a memorable evening raises serious funds.

We also rally behind children’s charities across the city with toy collections, fundraising campaigns and whatever help is needed most.By working together on these events we turn good company into real, lasting good – and that’s the part of Freemasonry we’re most proud of
